What is a Certified Golf Injury Doctor?

A distinction held by only a select few doctors around the country, a certified golf injury doctor has extensive post-graduate training. All graduates have passed both written and practical examinations in the following areas:

Golf Injuries:
Diagnosis and treatment protocols of common and uncommon golf injuries

Swing Analysis:

Countless case study analysis of swing mechanics to determine if patients are at risk of injury when they swing the club.

Fitness and Conditioning:
Tour pro training protocols for flexibility, strength and power

Barriers to Performance:
Concentration, Environ-Mental Allergens, Nutrition

Is this program for you?

We train ALL levels of golfers.  Each golfer is unique and has their own specific weaknesses.  Dr. Gong will tailor a program to attack those weaknesses.  We have seen exceptional results with all levels of golfers from beginners to pros.

What if I am not in any pain?

Unfortunately, pain is purely symptomatic.  You may have structural problems developing, but the absence of pain may mislead you in thinking nothing is wrong.  In order to improve your game, it is important to have your swing evaluated by a PGA professional AND a “Certified Golf Doctor.”

Also, if you are lacking certain golf specific flexibility and stability (which we test in our 14 point exam), your body is at serious risk of injury… it’s only a matter of time before something gives out.   We want to prevent that from ever happening!

How can a golf doctor help me hit the ball longer and straighter?

Simple.   The only way to hit longer and more powerful golf shots is to increase your club head speed.   The only way to increase your club head speed is to increase the range of motion and stability in your spine and upper extremities.

Why is golf specific training important?

Amateur golfers achieve approximately 90% of their peak muscular activity when striking a golf ball. This is the same intensity as picking up a weight that can only be lifted 4 times before total fatigue. Now, imagine repeating this 40-50 times per round (and that’s if you’re good!) with the same intensity!  If your body is not properly set up for this, it can make for a tough day especially as you get to the last few holes.

Do we have a PGA instructor license?

No.   Dr. Gong is here to get your body in the right condition for the golf swing.  We are here to eliminate the physical limitations your body has to accepting the correct golf swing.  We will gladly refer to a great local golf pro once you are ready to swing the golf club correctly and safely.
